Dirty Thursday

Isaacs Ridge hosted another dirt crit round. It's so retro being there bc it feels like a blast from the past. In the late 90's there were many races held there. Again rode over from home. It was so hot that I had to stop twice for water along the way. It was unfortunately (for me) on the same course as last week. So steep fire road followed by singletrack decent. There were the usual die hard dirty critters and a few long lost friends (; like Ed Pellegrino and Benny Henderson.Racing was good as usual but the best bit was talking crap on the way home with James, Andrew Hall and Cosi.

A fabulous day out at the Stromlo XC today. Rode over with James to warm up and it was the usualbunch of suspects out there...the cutest number was Bradand Lisa Morton's, Aiden. He's awesome...hadthe biggest stack on his push bike going flat biscuit down the hill...got up and gave me a high five ! It's obviously in the genes..brad's fast.

So many riders at tonight's dirt crits. Luckily the rain didn't eventuate so everyone had a great time. Well almost..the people that rode the Fling looked a little second hand (: B Grade had so many people in it. I had a great start but then had continuous chain issue and drifted backwards...still had fun hanging out.

Awesome...the usual crap talking at dirt crits!! You know it's the start of summer when dirt crits start. Three smooth fast boys, James Downing, Brad Morton and Andrew Hall at the end of racing.

The dirt crits have started strongly with good numbers in all grades. Unfortunately James pulled his gear cable on the first lap in A grade...Brad took the win by a strong margin followed by Andrew Hall and ? Ben Corey.

Meanwhile in B grade some kid-le-wink ruggie tried awfully hard to crash me (; at the start by hooking my handle bars but the chicks got skills ...lol (;. So ended up doing a nosie for a while before he crashed and I got on with racing (; Unfortunately had much ground to make up but was able to pull back some positions.

Actually I was more worried about getting mud from the recent rsin on my brand new kit!! Too funny, (; but you always want your new stuff whether its a bike or gear to stay new!! I have some awesome Giordano gear with silver lurex..and I love it.

Anyway off to the Fling next...good luck everyone..have fun and see you there. X k
