Working on the tan - the new year of the roadie princess

Happy New Year everyone!!

I haven't updated the blog for ages - I was busy enjoying Christmas and New Year, catching up with family and friends, and watching the cricket!

What's new?! After a random conversation about getting the most out of training with Ben Henderson at the Mr Taylor Hill Crit I've made a change to my training and am now following the Benny H training program... and have discovered my "inner roadie princess" (: I have been out doing road km's since Christmas and have discovered that I really like it... ha ha what a shock! I also 'discovered' the Uriarra/Cotter Loop. I know... I'd never ridden it before - how amazing!!! I was introduced to Urri-Cotter loop by accident. I was out riding and met up with Janie the owner of Lonsdale St - my fabulous sponsor. She was going for the loop and I really wasn't that keen but was having heaps of fun talking 'crap' with her so just kept riding. Maybe it was a diversionary tactic (: by Janey to keep me talking until I was at Urriara and was too far gone to turn around. I like a good chat (: Anyway, it was super fun especially the descent down Mt McDonald to the Cotter. I only had enough food and drink for at a push a two hour ride and by the time I was climbing out of the cotter I was starving. I saw a half sausage chucked on the road and it looked so good!! It was totally covered with ants and it still looked inviting... how funny. Anyway, I was so excited by the Loop that i was out the next day and many more riding the loop... see - there is a roadie princess in all of us!!
